Pastor Femi David was raised in an African Christian family in Lagos, Nigeria. From his early young age, he was committed to various church programmes and youth activities including choir, drama and youth leadership. Femi’s service to church began shortly after he gave his life to Christ in 1991.

Between 1994 and 1998, he volunteered at various levels of Deeper Life Bible Church as an undergraduate student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, Nigeria. He graduated with a degree in Sociology in 1998, M.Sc. Sociology (2001) and M.SW Social work (2016). Femi is also currently undertaking Professional Doctorate programme in social work at Cardiff University. In 2000, he joined The Redeemed Christian Church (RCCG) and in 2001 served as an evangelism coordinator at RCCG Postgraduate Campus Fellowship, University of Ibadan, Oyo state Nigeria, spreading the word of God and helping people to grow in faith.

Femi lectured at Department of Sociology, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria between 2000 and 2009 before relocating to the United Kingdom with his family. Femi is married to the love of his heart, Dr Gifty David and they are blessed with 4 children.

Femi and his wife were commissioned in 2010 to start a new parish of RCCG in Newport, where he remains as a senior pastor to date. Femi loves God and passionate about God’s kingdom work. He has a heart for leading people to a Christian commitment and support congregation to serve God with all their heart and in holiness. 

Outside of his church duties, Femi is committed to community development and support for vulnerable children and adults in the community. He is a member of Pill Unity Community group (Newport), which is working with the Invest Local programme to make Pillgwenlly a better place to live. He is also a member of Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs) working with South Wales Police to help improve Police service in our community.
